Heidelberg 250mm Microtome Knife/Blade
For sale- a Heidelberg Microtome Knife in what would appear to be the original wooden case.
The blade is 250mm long which is way bigger than most of the knives I have seen over the years.
I ran my finger the length of the blade- carefully!- and I didn’t detect any damage that felt like it could not be sharpened out.
Right in the middle there is some discoloration, I have to assume that was the sweet spot that was seeing all the action, that felt a bit rougher but no major dings or nicks.
Probably it just got a bit dull and they set it aside to be sharpened and forgot all about it.
Normally I would offer a return only on But It Now purchases but since I really can’t say if this usable regardless of what my “Return Policy” might say I will accept a return on this for up to 30 days after receipt if you cannot sharpen it to your satisfaction.
Just so that we are clear on that, this is an item that has not been thoroughly tested.
As such it may work fine or it may have problems, so any purchase entails a certain degree of risk, limited to the shipping costs both ways.
It is up to you to decide whether the risk level is acceptable to you, and if not you need to pass on this particular item.
Made in West Germany so that should give you an idea of the vintage.
