It's a smooth top stand with a solid top and sides, finished in warm Brown Mahogany laminate. The warm Brown Mahogany blends nicely with light and dark woods because of its blended grain. It brightens white, too, by adding a contrast without being stark. Wire framing supports the 4 fabric drawers, and a wire X on the back keeps the drawers in place. The 4 fabric drawers are "neutral colors", colors that work like neutrals in a space, allowing other accent colors to dominate. But because they aren't flat neutrals, they add depth and complexity
