Description
Here is a lovely handmade Mexican folk art hand forged and painted tin retablo. Featuring a ceramic skeleton bride and groom in wedding attire, with a small dove on the ground between them. They are standing on a pedestal in a recessed area with two hinged doors. The doors and recessed area have mirrored backs and there are paper roses decorating the doors. The painted tin frame / outer shadow box features a floral design with silver glitter, and at the top there is a large paper glittered flower. On the back side is a hook for hanging. Paper label reads: CLE, Cielito Lindo Estudio, Handcrafted in Mexico. Model No. MDP-06. Measures 8" tall by 5 1/2" wide by 2" deep. Recessed opening measures 4 3/8" tall by 3 1/8" wide.Cielito Lindo Estudio was established in the 1980's. Known for its unique folk art, the studio is located in the town of San Miguel de Allende. The studio creates original folk art, incorporating the traditional elements of Mexican culture, humor, materials, and artisanal legacy. Each piece is original and unique.
Condition: Excellent minus used condition
-- coming from a smoke-free and pet-free environment. Only very minor general wear. There is also some visual evidence of glue.
