Description
The C.S.S. Alabama, the most famous and notorious ship of the American Civil War, was a steam and sail sloop of war built for the Confederation in 1862 by John Laird & Sons in Liverpool, England. For over two years, the Alabama ravaged the Union’s maritime trade in the North Atlantic and West Indies. She was finally sunk by the U.S.S. Kearsarge off the coast of France in the Battle of Cherbourg. She never docked at a Southern port.Produced by Italy’s premier kit maker Mamoli, this beautiful new-in box plank-on-bulkhead kit will build into an magnificent 1:120 scale replica of the famous high seas raider. The finished model will be around 28” long and about 14” tall. The kit includes all of the materials required to complete the model; laser cut bulkheads and parts, basswood and walnut planking strips, cast metal cannons, lifeboats, and fittings; molded wood blocks and fittings, sail material, and several weights of rigging line. Full plans and detailed instructions round out the kit. Your choice of paints and finishing materials are sold separately.
