VINTAGE ENWELL SCHWINN LIGHT 2-BATTERY BICYCLE BIKE BALL HEADLIGHT

(This is a battery headlight, NOT a generator-set headlight!)
This is a shiny gem: a vintage Enwell two-cell, battery-powered Deluxe ball headlight, also made for Schwinn in the late 1960s through 1971 as their big Model 05 721. The white switch knob on this light indicates that it was part of Enwell's Crown line, and was a premium bike accessory for its time, with a gorgeous fluted glass lens to disperse the beam into a wider band of light, and high-power 0.5-amp bulb in place of the usual 0.3-amp #14 bulb used in most other battery lights. It's all chrome steel and glass construction, including a metal reflector, and the only plastic piece is the white switch knob on top.
It was also available from Schwinn throughout the 1960s and into 1971, making its last appearance in the 1971 catalog. The light is about 4" in diameter with a 3¼" diameter fluted glass lens, and is about 4½" long. It has been completely disassembled and cleaned. The switch has been lubed and rebuilt, and the glass lens was cleaned on both sides. All chrome was polished and waxed, including the case, headlight bezel and mounting bracket.
This is a cosmetically nice example (some scuffs and flaws in the chrome are visible up close) in perfect working order, and will look great on your vintage bike.
