Vintage / Original 1957 Schwinn 3spd Rare Traveler 26” Bicycle Lightweight Horn.
Very clean survivor 1957 traveler, these are very very hard to come by , i worked as a schwinn mechanic for years and never saw one this old with these short lived decals, has some fading but looks all stock besides the front tire, looks to be an 80s schwinn tire, but otherwise all stock, came from the original owner .
These travelers have some of the early English 3 speeds and triggers, noise German bow pedals, and the brakes are even marked Switzerland, a principal of American bicycle quality, these early travelers have a 3 pc lightweight fork , and a canvas lacquered seat big old red script grips and even stainless fenders, not chromed, stainless. I would ride this bike today with a better seat. The seat is great but would fall apart after 100 miles or so. This thing will last forever with just minimal maintenance.
The middle weights are all over, a light weight like this is hard to come by, even the traveler siren is in excellent condition, I did not have a d cell to test it…this bike was kept indoors in the chicago area its whole life…I just brought it to Dallas…will pack well. Buyer pays full shipping.
