    Description

WWII 1940 An Airman's Letter To His Mother RAF Book British Royal Air Force. Condition is vintage, please review the photos. Shipped with media mail.
This small, slim volume in wartime pasteboard published in 1940 -- only 7 pages of text filled out with 7 more pages of notes -- reprinted the famous letter written by Royal Air Force Flying Officer Vivian Rosewarne of 38 Squadron at RAF Marham to his mother. He asked that it be sent to her if he died. When he was lost over Dunkirk on May 30, 1940, his commanding officer read the letter before it was sent on to the grieving mother, and he gained her permission to send it to the Times of London.
